Reserves Carlsberg West Cheshire League

FRIDAY MAY 6TH > 7.30PM KICK OFF @ VAUXHALL MOTORS
FINAL > WIRRAL SENIOR CUP

CAMMELL LAIRD RES 2 v 1 Premier Division Champions CASTROL TESSUTI

Lairds retained the Wirral Senior Cup with a spirited performance against a strong Castrol side on last Friday night. First half goals from Alex Bishop and James McCoy proved to be too much for Castrol. An own goal just before the break gave Castrol hope and they did most of the attacking in the second half but to no avail. Lairds completed the Double of Wirral Senior Cup and Cheshire Amateur Cup, the first reserve side to do it!

FRIDAY 29 APRIL 2005
CHESHIRE AMATEUR CUP FINAL @ VAUXHALL MOTORS
Goals from James McCoy, John Couch and Alex Bishop won the Match for Lairds and regained the magnificent Cheshire Amateur Cup. After going a goal down (to an own goal) after 4 minutes, Lairds played their way back into the game and deservedly reached the half time break two goals to one in front. The second half saw Vauxhalls come out and attack the Lairds half, but their possession petered out at the edge of the penalty box.Lairds finished the game with a great, lobbed goal from Alex Bishop, who soldiered on despite a nasty head wound!
Lairds won the Cheshire County Cup for a record tenth time, and will next season represent Cheshire F.A. in the Northern Counties Cup, (a trophy we won year before last).
